I am from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I have been playing the piano for 11 years now, and I Thank God for each and every day he blesses me with more ambition, talent, and recognition. Gospel music is my style of choice because it's designed to give God glory and to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. I have always played music at my church and I also love to play jazz and improvised music.

I am currently studying music and mathematics at Louisiana State University. Studying both jazz and classical harmony has vastly improved my understanding of gospel music, as well as other styles. I have interests in the areas of composition and music theory. Some of my favorite methods of practice and musical growth are transcription and imitation. I have a theory that if you transcribe all the musical passages that you most enjoy listening to, then you will become an nearly satisfied musician. This approach has facilitated much personal growth throughout the last 3 years. I also have interests in methods of arranging and re-harmonization. This excites me because there is no limit to what one can accomplish through these procedures.

I regularly perform with the LSU Gospel Choir (Everrett Parker, Director), Jazz Ensembles (Prof. Willis Delony) and Jazz Combos (Brian Shaw, Director) (feat. guest clinicians such as Bobby Shew, Wes Anderson, and Harry Waters, among others that I have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with). I have also had the opportunity to perform with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra (Composer's Festival 2006), National All-South Jazz Band, New Orleans Jazz Festival, alternate finalist in Philips National Jazz Piano Competition, clinician and performer with Crystal Voices Workshop (Grenoble, France), I have received the William Pryor Jazz Scholarship, Loyola University Outstanding Soloist Summer Scholarship, and other small scholarships from universities and organizations. I have also been featured and/or participated in several Jam Session/Tutorial/Chops DVDs and other CD/DVD recordings.

Although I may not be endorsed or on tour at the moment, I know that God has a plan for me. That is why my focus as of right now is to learn, practice, record, network, travel, and create. I know my season is soon seeing as how, at this very moment, I am updating my website 3000 miles from home. And I have truly come to the realization that whatever may be in the road ahead, if it's not in God's plan, I don't want to have anything to do with it.
